Condolence From: niece, Karole Kindig Doran & husband David
Condolence: Dear Karin, Lana, & Marty,

Yesterday I learned that your father died. He was on my mind frequently...I lost track of him after a move; card sent was returned with no forwarding address, & I had no last names, phones, or addresses for any of you. Please accept our condolences on the death of your dear father. He was a special gentleman who was a constant source of strength all my life. Martin Kindig was as an exceptional example of Love for & Faith in God, a servant as His Son Jesus was, & who had a very strong faith from his childhood. 1 Timothy 2:3-6 & 1 Corinthians 15:25, 26 were favorite texts & promises.

As you all know, he loved his family very much. All his deeds were done in love. He loved & understood people, & brought out the best of each one. He practiced self-sacrifice for others, & included & accepted those who had more difficult lives. We shall miss him greatly. I am blessed with memories of childhood visits at your home, family gatherings where our dads teased us (those deadpan dark brown eyes playing serious)... & we all laughed together, & cranked out home-made ice cream!

Our last prolonged time together was the most precious -- when Uncle Martin came to help care for his dying brother Owen (my dad). (2002) We all were grateful & blessed for his sacrifice, love, kindness, & wisdom. Those are treasured memories!

If/when waves of grief may roll over you, please remember the dear one who gave you life, & loved you & yours greatly. Tears are precious; so are poems. However you grieve, remember this very dear one & all he has been to & shared with us.

If you are willing, please contact me so we can reconnect.

Love, Karole. (502-299-1935)
